Vick has struggled since last season, dealing with injuries and throwing a career-high 14 interceptions. Starting off with four picks in the new season isn't a good sign for a QB who is trying to change his game into becoming a pocket-passer.
After the Browns game, Vick clearly still has some more work to do. With a lot of talk lately about the veteran, Vick says the critics have no idea what they are talking about.
“I’ve always dealt with the things surrounding being a quarterback in the NFL and all the scrutiny,” Vick told USA Today. “It’s a part of it. And if it don’t drive you and motivate you, I don’t know what else could. It’s all just talk. It’s all speculation. It’s everybody saying what they don’t know anything about.
“I’ve been doing it [being a pocket passer] for the last two years, so what’s changed? Throwing for 3,000 yards in a season don’t come from scrambling and throwing on the run. I’m not focusing on being a pocket passer. I’m focusing on being the best quarterback who can win the game when it’s all said and done.”
The glaring problem for Vick is that he doesn't think he needs change. He still has work to do to improve his game. He's still sometimes inaccurate or makes some questioning decisions. He will need to improve on that soon and fix his game and somehow return to that magical form of 2010, or else it's Nick Foles' job to claim down the road.
