A replacement referee was recently removed from a game because he was a fan of the team was assigned to ref.
On Monday, more sour news came out about the NFL easily impressed replacement officials.
CBS 3 Philly is reporting that a replacement official took being starstruck to a new level when he referenced his need to have LeSean McCoy on his fantasy football team during Sunday's Week 2 match-up between the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens.
“They’re like fans, kind of though,” McCoy said. “I’ll be honest, they’re like fans. One of the refs was talking about his fantasy team, like ‘McCoy, come on, I need you for my fantasy,’ ahhh, what?!”
The NFL referees lockout must be resolved immediately before something tragic like gambling or point shaving happens with the replacements.
