During the time when he was young, however, he had to live with a misunderstanding on that people thought that he was homophobic, as he tells the New York Post.
“A lot of people thought I was gay," Silva said.
Silva, like boxing great Mike Tyson, has a high-pitched voice which would lead to the stereotype. Silva said that he allowed his sister to dress him up in girls clothes, because he thought it was normal. He also says he played with dolls up to age 14.
“We would wear a dress, put on her shoes,” Silva said. “And because I am very vain about my appearance, and have a high voice, a lot of people were sure I was gay.”
So far, Silva has let that misconception completely die. The 37-year-old is already married and with five kids.
