Chip Kelly January 2013

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Chip Kelly will not be heading to the NFL after all.

There were earlier talks about Kelly heading to the Cleveland Browns, but then he ended up engaging in close talks with the Philadelphia Eagles. But now, Chip Kelly turned it all down to stay with Oregon. This is not all new to Kelly, as this is the second straight season that there were talks of him headed to the pros, where he was in talks with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In his four years at Oregon, Kelly has gone 46-7 and has appeared in four straight BCS bowl games. The only time the Ducks did not finish in the top 10 was Kelly's first season, in which they finished ranked No. 11.

This is not the last time there will be talks of Kelly to the NFL. His ultra-fast, spread-style offense is definitely an attraction to a few NFL teams, including the New England Patriots. For now, Duck fans can enjoy the off-season.

All there is now to wait and see how Oregonwill thank Kelly for staying. Can he be the highest-paid coach in NCAA? Only time will tell.
