Oklahoma City Thunder forward
Kevin Durant and
Milwaukee Bucks point guard
Brandon Jennings were named the NBA Players of the Week.
Durant, 24, led the Thunder to a 3-1 record in the past week, averaging 32.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.5 steals per game.
The only loss in this stretch was against the
Washington Wizards, who defeated OKC 101-99 due to a game-winning jumper by rookie
Bradley Beal. Oklahoma City went on to beat the
Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Lakers and the
Portland Trail Blazers. At 29-8, they are first in the NBA.
The Bucks won three out of four games this past week, and Jennings had plenty to do with that. The 23-year-old averaged 24.5 points, 6.5 assists and four rebounds per game.
The Bucks, who parted ways with head coach
Scott Skiles last week, defeated the
Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls and
Toronto Raptors only while losing to the
Detroit Pistons. Milwaukee is currently 19-17, which is good enough for the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference.
