DeMar DeRozan January 2013

Toronto Raptors 97, Orlando Magic 95

DeMar DeRozan, who scored 14 fourth quarter points on 7-of-8 shooting,  made a fadeaway over Glen Davis at the buzzer that gave Toronto the win and their first buzzer-beater since 2006. Amir Johnson had a double-double for the Raptors with 21 points and 10 boards. Orlando has now lost four games in a row and currently have a 15-17 record.

New York Knicks 89, Boston Celtics 86

Honey Nut Cheerios?  That incident appeared to be all but over and Carmelo Anthony got the last laugh.

The Celtics, who trailed the entire fourth quarter, had a chance to tie game but they didn’t get to attempt any shots to pull it off. Boston was down three points with the ball, however Paul Pierce couldn’t hold on to the pass from Rajon Rondo and it went out of bounds.  The Celtics have lost five games in a row.

Anthony led the way for the Knicks with 28 points and nine rebounds. Rondo got his fourth triple-double of the season, ending up with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

Phoenix Suns 93, Los Angeles Clippers 88

Another game without Chris Paul, another loss. The Clippers fell to the Suns for their third straight defeat. They shot under 40-percent for the game and 33 in the final quarter. The Suns, who are now 2-0 under new head coach Lindsey Hunter, led practically all throughout the game.

Goran Dragic had 24 points and eight assists and a steal for the Suns. Jamal Crawford scored 21 points off-the-bench to lead the Clippers.
