Boston Celtics point guard
Rajon Rondo has been helping
Rudy Gay deal with all the trade rumors he’s been involved with. Rondo even went as far as saying he wants him on his team. Rondo has always been talking to Gay about bringing him to C's, as the
Memphis Grizzlies forward says so himself.
“It’s hard to talk to [Rondo] because he is always saying, ‘We need you over here. We need you over here,’” Gay told
Yahoo! Sports. “So it’s not easy talking to him. But he’s being a friend, just telling me about keeping everything together and he makes you feel like you are still valuable.”
Rondo might want Gay on his team, but it’s practically impossible for the Celtics to get him without making some serious changes to the roster. Along with that, only one player that would fit the Grizzlies out of the Celtics roster is Rondo.
If Boston is able to get Gay without dealing any of their core players, they would be a force to be reckon with. However, the chances of the Grizzlies trading Gay for players like
Courtney Lee, Jeff Green and some picks are slim-to-none.
