Sources told
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports that the Maloof family is planning on selling the
Sacramento Kings to an ownership group from Seattle.
What those it mean? Well, the Sacramento Kings as we know them may disappear forever, while the
SuperSonics franchise will be back on the NBA map, restoring all of their record in the process.
The SuperSonics started as a team in 1967, but following the 2007-2008 season they were relocated to
Oklahoma City, leaving no place for Sonics greats to leave their jerseys hanging in the rafters or associating their records with a team that doesn’t have anything to do with them.
If the sale does happen, it will be a sad day for the Kings. The team had success in the early 2000′s and became very well-known because of their great style of play and heated rivalries against the
Los Angeles Lakers and the
Dallas Mavericks.
