Los Angeles Clippers 102, New York Knicks 88
Chris Paul bounced back from a bad game against Miami on Friday to lead the Clippers with 25 points, seven assists and six rebounds on Sunday. After being down 12 in the final period, the Knicks cut the lead to six. CP3 scored five points in a row to increase the lead to 11, ending the Knicks' chances. Despite having 42 points, Carmelo Anthony attempted just two shots in the final quarter.
Miami Heat 97, Los Angeles Lakers 87
The Lakers, who had been playing great during the first three periods, had eight turnovers in the fourth quarter while Miami didn’t commit any. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade combined for 62 points, in which 38 of those came in the second half.
With James scoring more than 30 points for the fifth straight game, he joined Adrian Dantley and Moses Malone as the only players to score at least 30 and shoot at least 60-percent in five straight games. Kobe Bryant lead the Lakers with 28 points.
Boston Celtics 118, Denver Nuggets 114 (3 OT)
The Celtics victory had many clutch shots in 63 minutes of play. When they were down three with 23 seconds to go, Jeff Green made a three-pointer. Paul Pierce then made another one with five seconds left in the second overtime to tie the game again. Jason Terry also made a three in the third overtime to give Boston the lead for good.
Boston snapped Denver’s nine-game winning-streak and extended their own streak to seven games. Pierce had 27 points, 14 rebounds and 14 assists. Ty Lawson had 29 points, nine assists and six rebounds for the Nuggets.
Toronto Raptors 102, New Orleans Hornets 89
The Raptors blew the game open in the fourth quarter by outscoring the future Pelicans, 33-23. John Lucas had 10 of his 19 points in the final 12 minutes. Jonas Valanciunas had a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards.
Orlando Magic 110, Portland Trail Blazers 104
J.J. Redick led the way for Orlando with 22 points and Jameer Nelson added 15 assists for the Magic, who finally won a game after 12 straight defeats by beating the struggling Trail Blazers.
Gustavo Ayon tied a career-high with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Nikola Vucevic also had a double-double with 17 points and 19 boards. LaMarcus Aldridge led the Blazers with 25 points.
Memphis Grizzlies 105, Minnesota Timberwolves 88
Tayshaun Prince had a perfect night from the field going eight for eight for 18 points, Austin Daye added 16, Ed Davis had a facial dunk on Nikola Pekovic and the Grizzlies easily defeated Minnesota, who has lost 15 out of their last 17 games.
San Antonio Spurs 111, Brooklyn Nets 86
Tim Duncan was out for his third straight game. Manu Ginobili was out again as well, but Tony Parker’s brilliance was enough for the Spurs to defeat the Nets. Parker took control of the Spurs, who were trailing by six at the break, hitting five out of six jumpers along with four assists to enter the fourth.
With that, the Spurs held a 10-point lead and the Nets weren’t a challenge after that. Parker finished the game with 29 points and 11 assists. Brook Lopez scored 18 points and grabbed eight boards for the Nets.
Oklahoma City Thunder 97, Phoenix Suns 69
The Thunder dominated the Suns, and it was so easy that Kevin Durant -- who’s leading the NBA in scoring -- only had 18 points. Russell Westbrook led the way with 24 points and Thabo Sefolosha added 20. Oklahoma City led 30-16 after the first quarter and took control from that point on. The Thunder's biggest lead was up to 35.
Sacramento Kings 117, Houston Rockets 111
With DeMarcus Cousins sitting for most of the second half due to foul trouble, the Kings needed someone to step up and they got it. Isaiah Thomas scored 17 points in the fourth quarter alone, helping Sacramento outscore the Rockets 33-25 in the final period to get the win. James Harden scored 30 points and had six rebounds for the Rockets.
