The Sacramento Kings have bought out point guard Aaron Brooks, according to Grant Napear, the TV voice of the team. It was a mutual decision between Brooks and the team.
Brooks, who signed with the Kings in the off-season after spending the 2011-2012 year in the China, went from being a bench player to being able to start for a few months but then to getting some DNP’s. The amount of guards the Kings have on their roster made it easier to part ways with the 28-year-old.
Brook averaged eight points and about two assists per game for the Kings this season in 46 games. The Houston Rockets is likely the new destination for Brooks, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
Brooks isn’t new to Houston. In fact, he was drafted by the team in 2007 with the 26th overall pick and played 3 1/2 seasons with the organization before being traded to the Phoenix Suns for Goran Dragic and a draft pick.
In his last full season with the Rockets, he averaged 19.6 points per game and 5.3 assists.
