Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace will undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. He is expected to miss at least six weeks.
World Peace has played in 70 games this season, averaging 12.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. His injury comes at the worst time with the NBA regular season coming to a close. Along with that, both Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol have been battling injuries all year long.
The Lakers are currently 36-35, good enough for eighth in the Western Conference standings. However, can they hold on to it long enough before the Utah Jazz become in striking-distance of taking it away from them?
