Michigan State star sophomore guard Gary Harris will sidelined four-to-eight weeks after a bad sprain during a pickup game with his teammates, according to MLive.
Michigan State is scheduled to hold its first official practice Sept. 27, leaving Harris doubtful for that Midnight Madness as well.
He is expected to return for Michigan State’s first exhibition game on Oct. 29. Harris dealt with a nagging shoulder injury all last season.
Harris averaged 12.9 points last season, and won Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors. He announced after the season he would remain at Michigan State rather than declare for the 2013 NBA Draft, where he was likely to be a lottery draft pick.
