Bob Stoops is dealing with a quarterback competition at Oklahoma for the first time in years, and the three-battle just went down to two.
ESPN is reporting that sophomore quarterback Kendal Thompson suffered a fractured right foot during the team's first practice of the season.
Thompson was battling junior Blake Bell and redshirt freshman Trevor Knight for the Sooners starting QB job. For the first time since the pre-Sam Bradford era, Stoops is looking for a definitive answer at quarterback.
“We’re optimistic that Kendal will return early in the season,” he said “He has a very positive outlook and is eager to rejoin his teammates on the field as soon as possible.”
