Derek Jeter is looking to make his third return from injury and back on the baseball diamond for the New York Yankees.

According to ESPN, if everything goes well tonight in his minor league game with the Scranton-Wilkes Barre RailRiders, Jeter is expected to return to the Yankees starting lineup on Monday as they start a three-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays on the road.

"That's the plan," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "As long as everything goes OK today, we'll see him in Toronto."

Jeter has only been able to play five games this season after dealing with two ankle fractures and strains in his calves and quads, which has caused him to hit the disabled list three times.

New York hopes this will be the last time Jeter will be out when the 39-year-old is expected to return Monday.
