The Portland Trail Blazers have done their best to retool their roster on the go, all the while fighting the urge to trade their best player, power forward LaMarcus Aldridge.
The Blazers spent all off-season listening to rumors and offers about Aldridge, but held firm.
General manager Neil Olshey tells Grantland that he has not considered trading his All-Star power forward.
“It’s not on our mind and it’s not on his, either,” said Olshey. “LaMarcus just wants to win. He wants to win tomorrow night. He doesn’t want to hear about having cap room two years from now.”
The Blazers are hoping that Aldridge and point guard Damian Lillard can help get the Blazers over the hump out in the tough Western Conference for next season.
