Brett-Brown-Manu-Ginobili-Spurs

The Philadelphia 76ers took a long time to decide on a head coaching candidate, but according to reports they have finally offered the job to Spurs assistant Brett Brown.

Marc Stein of ESPN is reporting that several high-profile sources have told him that Brown is being urged by peers that care about him to not take the Sixers job.

From Stein:
The advice stems from the fact that the rebuilding 76ers are tanking, regardless of whether or not you believe general manager Sam Hinkie.

The 76ers, like every other lottery-bound team, wants in on the Andrew Wiggins sweepstakes. That would essentially set Brown up to play rookies and journeyman, on his way to a 60-loss season.

Brown would have to get serious confirmation from Sixers brass with support, financial security and most importantly years to get the job done.
