Victor Cruz is a good teammate, and extremely loyal.
Cruz, who just cashed in on a $45 million deal, thinks New York Giants teammate Hakeem Nicks is worth way more than that. Cruz also added that Nicks should get the same deal that Mike Wallace got from the Miami Dolphins, if not more.
“Absolutely, Hakeem is worth Mike Wallace money,” Cruz told USA TODAY Sports. “He’s worth whatever his numbers indicate, which are pretty well up there and worth that.
“If he does ask my advice, I’d tell him to go out there and play. That’s the only thing he can control — playing his heart out each and every week, being a good guy in the locker room, which he already is. Everything else will fall into place.”
Nicks, of course, feels the same way about Cruz.
“I’m rooting for Victor just as much he roots for me. I’m not even going to get into all that right now. It’s going to be strictly football. The contract will take care of itself. I have no doubt about it.”
