Amar’e Stoudemire is having himself one interesting summer.
Amid talks he will rest and not work with Hakeem Olajuwon come reports that Stoudemire may become a citizen of another country.
New York Magazine is reporting (via Stoudemire’s agent Happy Walters) that Stoudemire has applied for Israeli citizenship, and may one day suit up for their national team.
"He’s getting citizenship,” the agent said. “He applied, and he’s there now.”
Stoudemire, who has been exploring the Jewish faith for several years now, recently met with President Shimon Peres on his previous trip and even served as an assistant coach for Canada’s team at the Maccabiah Games.
