By now, you have probably heard about Arizona Cardinals safety Rashad Johnson having part of his left middle finger removed.
In Sunday's 31-7 loss to the New Orleans Saints, Johnson injured his middle finger. As he took his glove of, part of his finger was removed and still inside the glove! Johnson later had it taped up, and he went on to play the whole entire game.
Johnson later had to have surgery on it following the game, as his finger got shaved down to the first knuckle. Ouch! Talk about excruciating pain right there.
Johnson's hand was revealed following the surgery, as the Arizona Cardinals posted this photo on Instagram:
Amazingly, he's not the only safety in the NFL to have some of his finger removed. Anyone remember Ronnie Lott? Lott had to have part of his pinky finger amputated during the game in order to continue his NFL career.
Here's what it looks like today:
Looks like Johnson is in some exclusive company, but it's not usually the best thing — for most people — to be a part of when you lose something that is apart of your body.
Wish the best to Johnson on his recovery.
