Julio Jones Injury: Falcons WR Broke Screw In Surgically Repaired Foot

Julio Jones will go down in sports-folklore for his blazing 4.39 40-yard dash at the 2011 NFL Combine with a broken foot. Jones went on to have surgery for that foot, and was then drafted by the Atlanta Falcons.

Now, he has become a star. However, on Monday night that foot and the screw placed inside it failed him. Jones, as reported on Tuesday afternoon, will be out for the remainder of the regular season.

NFL reporter Jason Cole reports that Jones, who was on a blistering pace with 41 catches and over 500 yards so far on the season, broke the screw that was put in his foot in that 2011 surgery.

Jones is expected to get a second opinion on Wednesday, though.
