According to Pro Football Talk, Simpson was arrested and was put in the Hennepin County Jail on Saturday morning. Simpson reportedly refused to take a breathalyzer, which led to him getting arrested for a DWI. He was jailed in at around 5:39 a.m.
This is obviously not the first time Simpson has been in the news for police blotter. You may remember a few years ago when there was pounds upon pounds of marijuana found in his home while he was a member of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Simpson was sentenced to three years on probation last year, so this could spell trouble for him in the legal and NFL aspect, as the probation charge led to a three-game suspension for him.
Minnesota said this in a statement: "The Vikings are aware of the matter involving Jerome Simpson. We are continuing to gather information and will have further comment at the appropriate time."
Despite the problems, it's unlikely the Vikings will cut Simpson. He is leading the team with 491 receiving yards on 33 catches so far on the season.
