Back in May 2012, it was revealed that Incognito was accused of battery after he harassed a woman during a charity golf event. Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin commented on the matter Saturday, saying that Miami took action of what Incognito did.
“We were made of aware of the situation, we took immediate action,” Philbin said. “Any club action we took against any player would remain private.”
The more and more we hear about Miami, the more and more I continue to think they should be the LOLphins.
Philbin obviously has no control of what has been going on with the Dolphins, and as a head coach that's just sad. More questions will be raised after those comments, like why was Incognito still considered one of the leaders of the team even after that incident?
Despite all of that, Philbin thinks he's a players' kind of coach.
“I believe I’m approachable to the players,” he said.
Miami has a big game coming up on Monday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Losing to them, which would give the Bucs their first win of the season, would make all matters a lot worse.
“We don’t get paid for distractions. We get paid to go out and perform. We have a big game on Monday night,” Philbin said.
