Well, that didn’t last long.
The Toronto Raptors waived guard D.J Augustin on Monday in order to complete the trade they made on Sunday with the Sacramento Kings. Toronto sent Rudy Gay, Quincy Acy and Aaron Gray to the Kings for Greivis Vasquez, Chuck Hayes, Patrick Patterson and John Salmons.
Here’s a tweet from Doug Smith of the Toronto Star:

Augustin, 26, signed a one-year, $1.2 million deal with the Raptors in the offseason after spending last season with the Indiana Pacers. The backup point guard averaged 2.1 points, 1.0 assists and 8.2 minutes in 10 games.
The former Pacer was selected as the ninth overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Bobcats, and played four seasons with the team before signing a deal in July of 2012 to play with Indiana.
With Kyle Lowry, Julyan Stone, Dwight Buycks and now Vasquez playing the point, there was no space for Augustin on the roster. The 7-12 Raptors aren’t done dealing, as they’re expected to trade Lowry next.
The tank is getting real in Canada.
