Los Angeles Clippers star point guard Chris Paul will not be required for surgery on his separated shoulder injury and will be out for up to six weeks, according to ESPN.
Paul injured his shoulder in a win over the Dallas Mavericks a few nights ago. CP3 underwent an MRI on Sunday and reevaluated by doctors.
Paul has been having a superb year with the Clippers, averaging nearly 20 points, a league-best 11 assists along with five rebounds per game.
With Paul out, the Clippers have turned to backup point guard Darren Collison to carry the load. The team also waived point guard Maalik Wayns today in order to open a roster spot for another, more serviceable point guard.
"There are a few guys who could get out of their contracts in China," head coach Doc Rivers said. "So you're looking at all that stuff."
Los Angeles is currently 23-13 on the season, leading their division while being placed fourth in the Western Conference.
