Mickael Pietrus is only 31 years old, but he has yet to be signed onto an NBA roster this season after last playing with the Toronto Raptors in the 2012-13 campaign.
Pietrus, who was the 11th overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, wants back in the league. Now completely healthy, Pietrus hopes to land a contract as roster spots open around this time, according to CSNNW.
“We’re open and active, waiting for the best opportunity for Mickael,” his agent Bill McCandless said.
Pietrus has gained a lot of interests overseas, but he decided turn all of them down. It's all about the NBA for him.
“It’s the NBA or bust,” his agent said.
Today marks it the time for teams being able to sign players to 10-day contracts. With several roster spots opening up, it's likely Pietrus can land a deal now that he is fully healthy and ready to go.
Pietrus was cut last season after 19 games with the Raptors due to knee issues.
