Carmelo Anthony had a night to remember when he dropped 62 points on the Charlotte Bobcats, breaking the record for the most points scored by a player in a game at Madison Square Garden.
Anthony broke Kobe Bryant's record by one point, who had 61 in MSG. Melo also broke the record for the most points scored by a New York Knicks player specifically in the Garden, surpassing Bernard King's 60 points. Coincidentally, Melo's favorite player growing up was King.
Anthony was on hot all throughout the game. He had 37 points at halftime, finishing off the first half
with a half-court buzzer beater. After that, many thought he could contend for Kobe's 81 points he had back in 2006.
It was very well possible:

Anthony had a good shot, and I wish he could have done it. Nonetheless, he made himself a legend in New York sports history with this game superb game.
Here's video of what Anthony did below:
Anthony finished with a stat line of 62 points, 13 rebounds and 65.7 percent shooting.
