The Denver Nuggets have been in pursuit of getting rid of veteran point guard Andre Miller, and it may just very well happen with the Sacramento Kings being very interested in him.
According to CBS Sports, the Kings have several options in trading for Miller. They may offer point guard Jimmer Fredette with a future second-round pick, or do a deal with shooting guard Marcus Thornton and a future draft pick. Another one, sources say, could include forward Jason Thompson.
As of last night though, according to the Sacramento Bee, no deal has been offered.
The Kings are mainly trying to get rid of Thornton, who holds an $8 million salary with the team. Thornton is only averaging about nine points per game this season and he is clearly overpaid.
However, the Nuggets don't need Thornton since they're more than stacked at that position. The only way the Kings can get rid of Thornton is if they can somehow involve a third team into the trade.
Trading Fredette could work, but his salary would be too low and would go against the NBA trade rules. Fredette's contract expires in June, and Denver could use him as a nice rental option to backup Ty Lawson in Denver.
To make the Fredette trade work, they may include a guy like Aaron Gray, but they would have to wait until Feb. 10 for that to occur.
More than likely, it's that Andre Miller will be in Sactown very soon.
The question is when?
