The Detroit Lions have a lot of candidates for their head coaching position after firing Jim Schwartz at the end of the season. According to ESPN, the top candidate right now is Ken Whisenhunt and it is now reportedly his job to lose.Whisenhunt is currently the offensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers, and has done one hell of a job of making this offense looking like a firepower this season. Whisenhunt also coached the Arizona Cardinals, as he helped deliver the franchise a Super Bowl appearance a few years ago.
The Lions have a very stacked offense with a quarterback (Matthew Stafford), running back (Reggie Bush) and wide receiver (Calvin Johnson) who are all in the top 10 in the NFL of their respective positions. However, they were never able to live up to expectations, hence their 7-9 record this season.
Whisenhunt can be the guy that can take this team to the top with a high-powered offense. If Whisenhunt does get hired, the major question will be of how this team's defense is going to work.
