In a move that was likely to happen sometime this week has finally happened, as the Orlando Magic finally waived veteran small forward Hedo Turkoglu today.

With Turkoglu waived, he does not plan to leave the NBA. Teams from Europe likely are to be interested in him, but Hedo says he has no plans to join them.
Turkoglu tells NTV Spor's Ismail Senol that he will stay in the NBA, also noting that the Lakers and Hawks have interest in him.

The Lakers are extremely depleted, and they can probably use just about anybody right now to help their banged up roster. Atlanta could also use some frontcourt help from Turkoglu, especially with Al Horford gone for the rest of the season due to injury.
Turkoglu, 34, only played 11 games this season, averaging about three points, two rebounds and two assists per game.
