Andrew Bynum is "very close" to signing with the Pacers, as he was spotted in Indianapolis Friday night with his agent, according to the Indy Star.

The free agent center was traded to the Chicago Bulls from the Cleveland Cavaliers as a part of the Luol Deng deal, where he was then waived. Since then, Bynum was being pursued by several teams, including the New Orleans Pelicans and Los Angeles Clippers.

The Pacers were speculated as a team to sign him, and he could end up becoming a huge factor for them if he plays well off the bench and shows up in the postseason. Bynum would be the perfect backup at the center position to All-Star Roy Hibbert, and both could even create solid one-two punch in the frontcourt at times.

However, a deal has yet to be signed as of right now.

“(Bynum) has not signed as yet,” Bynum's agent David Lee says.

Indy Star's Bob Kravitz wrote about a month ago that Indiana should sign Bynum just so that the Miami Heat can't get him, as they would have two big men with insane potential with him and Greg Oden. Now, they did just that.

The Pacers getting Bynum is a no-risk move and it could end up paying off big time in the near future. Heck, Bynum could be the guy that could put Indiana into the NBA Finals for the first time in over a decade.

Get ready folks, Bynum is coming to Indy!
