NFL 2012 - San Diego Chargers defeat the Oakland Raiders 24 - 21.Statistics have really been helping the San Diego Chargers as they head into Denver next week for the Divisional Round of the 2014 NFL Playoffs.

We highlighted yesterday how statistics in recent NFL history support that the Chargers can upset the Broncos next week, and that they can win the Super Bowl. But now there has been even more stats that helps San Diego, particularly with their quarterback Philip Rivers.

Since late 2012, Rivers has gone undefeated at a 6-0 record when he was wearing a glove on his right throwing hand. He improved to six straight wins in Sunday's Wild Card win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Against Cincy, Rivers went 12-16 for 128 yards and one touchdown. It wasn't a game to be an awe about by any means, but Rivers didn't have any turnovers. He was accurate and took care of the football in the victory.

In fact, since wearing a glove in the six games he's played with one since late 2012, Rivers has yet to have a turnover, according to U-T San Diego. So far, Rivers has thrown for 1,202 yards with 13 touchdowns and zero picks, accumulating a 114.7 QB rating.

Looks like Rivers should rock a glove next week in the cold Denver weather for good luck, then. Heck, maybe try out the bolo tie again, too.
