The Los Angeles Lakers have had a rough year in the 2013-14 NBA season and it has been equally worse for Kobe Bryant, who returned from a torn Achilles injury only to suffer a broken knee that would leave him out for likely the rest of the season now. But Bryant sees something for next year, which includes revenge.
The Lakers are going to be in the 2014 NBA Draft Lottery, so there is a chance they could get in on this sweepstakes for Jabari Parker or Andrew Wiggins, and Bryant sees that. Along with cap space that is opening up with all the players that will be gone this offseason, the future is bright for the purple-and-gold.
Bryant talked about this season and what's to come for next year in an interview with Jeff G. the Sports Dude on Power 106, talking about the hate and the mockery LA has received this season and that there will be sweet, quick revenge next season.
Jeff G.: You just signed a two-year deal…talk about what that means to you and what the fans can expect the last two years from Kobe.
Kobe: This year, we all know it’s been a real tough year for us right? So what I’d like everybody to do is to really just sit back and just absorb this year. Take it all in. Sit back and watch and listen and hear all the hate that’s being thrown at us and remember every person that’s kicking you when you’re down because next year it ain’t gunna be this way.
Appreciate it now. Let it sit in now, because revenge is sweet and it’s quick.
Next season is already gonna be interesting.
