Tampa Bay Lightning left wing Ryan Malone was arrested very early Saturday morning for driving under the influence along with possession of cocaine,
ESPN reports.
The police report states that Malone had 1.3 grams of cocaine and his blood alcohol level was between 0.112 and 0.116 percent, which is well over the .08 percent limit.
The 34-year-old, according to reports, was arrested at 5:40 a.m. ET in Tampa. Malone was then released under a $2,500 bond. The jail records didn't indicate whether he had an attorney or not.
Malone will not be play for the Lightning on Sunday after being arrested.
"We are aware of the situation concerning Ryan Malone this morning," Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman said in the statement. "Ryan will not travel with the team to Washington today, but beyond that we cannot comment further at this time."
Malone is in his sixth season with the Lightning. He has five goals and 10 assists in 57 games this season. For his career, where he has played with Tampa and the Pittsburgh Penguins, he has 179 goals and 191 assists in 641 games.
