According to NBPA vice president Roger Mason Jr., the players planned a boycott—yes, even the playoff games—if Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling wasn't kicked out of the NBA.
“
I heard from our players and all of our players felt like boycotting the games tonight,” Mason said. “We’re talking about all NBA players. We’re talking about the playoff games tonight.”
“I reached out to other players around the league and made it clear the players were ready to boycott the games if this type of action was not something that Adam Silver felt was necessary. We’re happy with the decision but we’re not content yet. We want immediate action. We want a timetable from the owner as far as when this vote is going to happen.”
There will need to be at least three-fourths of the NBA owners to vote on if Sterling will be kicked out of the league. It's likely going to happen, especially with many of the other owner's reactions to his comments and the fact that Sterling is now banned for life from the NBA and the Clippers franchise.
