In his first at-bat since his father’s death, Philadelphia Phillies backup outfielder Tony Gwynn Jr. received a standing ovation last night from the home crowd. This was a classy move by the Phillies crowd.
Kudos also to Miami Marlins catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia for being respectful of the moment by walking to the pitcher’s mound long enough for Gywnn Jr. to take in the love.
