Blake Griffin withdrew from playing with Team USA in the 2014 FIBA World Cup due to an injury. That injury for the Los Angeles Clippers star power forward is reportedly a small fracture in his back, according to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.com.
Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin withdrew last week from Team USA training camp for the FIBA World Cup because he was advised by doctors to give a small fracture in his back more time to heal before the start of the next NBA season, sources with knowledge of the situation told ESPN.com.
Griffin is expected to make a full recovery from the surgery, according to the report. He was advised by his doctors to not participate in international competition such as the basketball world cup, though.
Griffin has been one of the many star and marquee players who have withdrew from Team USA due to injuries, rest or spending more time training with their own team.
