Dion Waiters July 2014

The Cleveland Cavaliers drafted Andrew Wiggins and brought back LeBron James in free agency, which likely means that Dion Waiters is heading to bench.

Waiters was asked on if he would accept a bench role on the Cavs. Waiters told the fan on Twitter "No" with nine O's. He then deleted the tweet, but a screenshot was caught in time.

He then added this:

Not sure why Waiters would delete the first tweet. There's nothing wrong with being confident, but I'm sure he doesn't want to ruin the chemistry of the team.

If the Cavs can't get Kevin Love this season, there's a good chance Waiters can still start. It would be like this:

PG: Kyrie Irving
SG: Dion Waiters
SF: Andrew Wiggins
PF: LeBron James
C: Tristan Thompson/Anderson Varejao

Or if the Cavs ends up trading Wiggins, Waiters can start normally instead Cleveland going small ball. Waiters could also get traded, too, giving him the ability to start another team.

I think it would be best if Waiters goes ahead and accepts the bench role. It seems best suited for his game, in my opinion.
