LeBron James did a bit similar to what he did in 2010 for his NBA free agency decision in that he did not inform the teams interested until making a public announcement.
That happened today, reportedly, when James published his essay to Sports Illustrated. According to ESPN via their "SportsCenter" text message alerts, the Cleveland Cavaliers nor the Miami Heat were informed about the King's decision until his essay was posted.

I guess the Heat and their fans can't blame James for that. That's exactly what he did to even join their team four years ago.
Of course, though, James handled this year's decision like a true professional nonetheless.
