Despite there's a chance of Paul Pierce retiring, it's more than likely that the small forward will return for his 17th NBA season.
According to ESPN, his best chances are to say with the Brooklyn Nets, but his asking price may be a bit too much.
The Nets are hoping to pay Pierce in the $8 million range. Pierce wants a bit more than that as he's searching within the $9-10 million price range.
Despite Pierce's asking price, there's not many teams that are willing to take that much money for the aging veteran. Pierce has been linked to the Los Angeles Clippers, but it's unlikely to happen after the team signed Spencer Hawes. They would have to do a sign-and-trade to make Pierce re-unite with Doc Rivers, but even that's not very possible.
It's more than likely that Pierce stays with the Nets. If he does and re-signs for another year or two, expect power forward Kevin Garnett to play next season, too.
