Many were surprised by the move Paul Pierce made during NBA free agency to leave the Brooklyn Nets to sign a two-year, $11 million deal with the Washington Wizards.
Why wouldn't Pierce want to stay in Brooklyn and continue playing with Kevin Garnett? According to Michael Scotto of Sheridan Hoops, Pierce was never even offered a contract from the Nets.
