The Cleveland Cavaliers' two biggest moves this offseason were the drafting of Andrew Wiggins and signing LeBron James in free agency. With that, it might have sent current shooting guard Dion Waiters to the bench.
Waiters voiced his frustration about the matter on Twitter, saying he
wouldn't accept a bench role in Cleveland. Waiters reportedly still feels the same way, because he's currently eying starting at shooting guard still with the Cavs.
“
I want to start and I believe that I should at the two,” Waiters said. “I just say how I feel. I’m going to do whatever is best for the team, of course, but at the end of the day, I’m a man and I’m confident in myself. I’ve always been a guy that gives it right to you. I’ve never been a guy that plays that political stuff."
Currently, many pundits are pegging Wiggins to start at shooting guard. However, there's still a chance he can get traded for Kevin Love. If that move ever ends up happening, Waiters will ultimately be the starting SG.
As of now, he'll have to prepare being the sixth man for this team, unless if he outperforms Wiggins during training camp.
