It's about damn time. It looks like the Los Angeles Lakers have finally hired a new head coach, and it's unsurprisingly Byron Scott.
According to ESPN Los Angeles, the Lakers have offered their head coaching job to Scott. They are currently in negotiations for a contract, sources say.
Scott has long been the frontrunner for the head coaching job ever since the Lakers opened up their search. It's about time they go ahead and hire him.
Scott used to play for the Lakers, winning multiple titles with Magic Johnson. The team has made a verbal offer to him and he's expected to accept the offer after reviewing it.
Scott last coached the Cleveland Cavaliers. He's been favored by Kobe Bryant for the job, so we'll see if he can turn out to be a good fit for the 2014-15 NBA season.
