Twitter has been huge for almost any company, whether it's a small business or something as big like on the corporate level. The NBA surely has used Twitter to its advantage and now they're bringing it to the hardwood ... literally.
According to Darren Rovell of ESPN.com, the league will now put their "@NBA" Twitter handle name on all of the official game basketballs.
The NBA announced Thursday that it would be putting its social media identifier, @NBA, right under the words "official game ball," becoming the first league to usher social media literally into the players' hands.
"We have a young, tech-savvy fan base," Melissa Rosenthal Brenner, the league's senior vice president for digital media, said. "This acknowledges our commitment to being part of the conversation."
The league currently has over 10.8 million followers on Twitter. We'll see if adding this can help them grow their account even bigger than it already is.
