After thrashing Brazil during the World Cup semifinals round, 7-1, the Germans weren't able to pull off the same feat against Argentina in the Final. It took extra time and a fabulous goal from Mario Gotze to get the job done.

It wasn't over, though. Argentina had several chances throughout the whole match, but their last came on a free kick for Lionel Messi. Perhaps the biggest kick of his career, Messi couldn't deliver.
