James Harden August 2014

Hours after a 112-86 victory over Puerto Rico, Team USA unveiled it's official 12-man roster for the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain.

According to ESPN, USA Basketball made four roster cuts to bring it down to 12. Players who were cut were Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard, Dallas Mavericks small forward Chandler Parsons, Atlanta Hawks shooting guard Kyle Korver and Utah Jazz small forward Gordon Hayward.

Via ESPN, here's the official roster for Team USA heading into Spain:

Toronto's DeMar DeRozan and Detroit's Andre Drummond, widely regarded as prime candidates to be left home at the start of the week, claimed the last two roster spots alongside starters Kyrie Irving (Cleveland), Stephen Curry (Golden State), James Harden (Houston), Kenneth Faried (Denver) and Anthony Davis (New Orleans) and reserves Derrick Rose (Chicago), DeMarcus Cousins (Sacramento), Klay Thompson (Golden State), Rudy Gay (Sacramento) and Mason Plumlee (Brooklyn).

Head coach Mike Krzyzewski says having five or six big men on the team was a must for this tournament, which is why Faried, Davis, Cousins, Drummond and Plumlee are on the team.

USA will play nine games over a span of about two weeks from August 30 to September 14. Many are expecting them to likely face Spain in the championship, who have Pau Gasol, Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol.

Best of luck to USA in the tournament.
