Whether it's his Chicago Bulls teammates
saying he looks like his old self again or guys on Team USA saying "
he's playing out of his mind," it's pretty safe to bet on the fact that Derrick Rose is back.
Now USA Basketball head coach Mike Krzyzewski has hopped on the D Rose bandwagon when
telling ESPN that the star point guard is "elite" again.
"It takes an exceptional person, which is why we're talking about Derrick," Coach K said. "I think he's exceptional in every way. He went right at it. The first defensive exchange in the camp, he was all over the ball handler. Moving his feet, attacking him -- there was a buzz right away -- because it was basically his saying, 'Look, I'm not just back. I'm back at a level that's elite.'"
Rose is coming off two major knee injuries in the past two years, and even after all of that, he still continues to push himself.
In just these past few days, people have seen enough flash of Rose with Team USA to determine that he really hasn't lost a step from his MVP year in the 2011-12 season.
However, things will truly be determined once Rose suits up for the Bulls.
