Robert Griffin III is a legend at Baylor University, as he led the Bears football team to a 10-win season back in 2011, their first since 1980. Add in the fact that RG3 was also the Heisman Trophy winner that same season, it's no question Baylor had to pay homage to the quarterback sometime soon.
They did that finally on Sunday before the team's opener against SMU, where they won 45-0. They honored the now Washington Redskins star QB with a bronze statue at McLane Stadium.
"If you go to Washington D.C., before you go watch the Redskins and Robert, you go see Mr. Lincoln. That's a great statue. If you're going to go to New York City, go see the Statue of Liberty," Ken Starr, the school's president,
told ESPN. "When you come to Waco, you're going to see the statue of Judge Baylor, Coach (Grant) Teaff and Robert Griffin III."
Congrats to Griffin!
