If you thought ESPN was crazy for
placing Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant No. 40 for their 2014 #NBARank list, think again.
The worldwide leader dropped the ball today when putting Oklahoma City Thunder star small forward and reigning league MVP Kevin Durant at No. 8.

Of course, there was an outrage.
ESPN had a reason for placing KD at No. 8, saying it's because of
his foot injury that will keep him out for six-to-eight weeks.

If it weren't for the injury, KD would be placed No. 2 behind who is likely LeBron James:

I guess you could understand what ESPN is trying to stay, but being out for one-to-two months isn't going to keep Durant from behind one of the top two players in the NBA.
As always, they placed KD at No. 8 just to gain some more pageviews. It's been a while since people have been talking about #NBARank.
Credit to ESPN, though. They sure know how to rile up the crowd.
