Up until Sunday night in Super Bowl 49, the New England Patriots had owned the longest sports title drought in Boston sports, having not won a championship since 2004.
Thanks to their win over the Seattle Seahawks, that title now belongs to the Celtics, who last won back in 2008 over the Los Angeles Lakers.
Per Sports Illustrated, the Pats had been put under "pressure" after the Bruins took home the Stanley Cup in 2011. But New England has finally won it.
Of course, this stat is most certainly not a bad thing. Most other cities haven't even won a championship in over decade. Some are even longer than that.
Hard to feel sorry for them. Boston sports fans have it best with their consistent championship squads.
