The target date for Paul George to return to the Indiana Pacers was today, March 14th. However, that is not happening after it was announced that the star forward would not play against the Boston Celtics at home Saturday night.
Right now,
George is uncertain of returning.
"I think if it gets to the point that these guys are in the playoffs and we're talking about coming back, we might as well let these guys finish that out," George said.
I guess it's understandable that George does not want to ruin the chemistry of this team. The Pacers have been on a roll since the All-Star break, and have been a league-best 13-1 since February 1st.
Indiana currently has the seventh seed, but you have to wonder where they could finish at the end of the season. At 30-34, they can definitely finish above .500.
I think George should return. It could give the Pacers an even bigger boost heading into the postseason, where they maybe they could end up with the sixth seed or higher possibly then.
